About the role
We are looking for a National Operations Manager to lead and oversee the operations of four feed manufacturing facilities based in Malmesbury, PE, Pretoria and George. This is a senior management role where you will drive strategic imperatives, coach a team of Operational Managers, and ensure the overall efficiency and performance of all feed plant operations.
You will be responsible for maintaining feed quality standards, ensuring optimal supply to customers, managing costs and profitability, and overseeing stock management. The role also involves approving capital budgets, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring legal compliance across health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.

Requirements
- Minimum 3 year tertiary qualification in Engineering, Operations Management, Agriculture, or related fields
- 8 to 12 years experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably in feed or related industries
- Proven experience in managing multi site operations
- Willingness to travel between operational sites
- Strong financial and commercial expertise with experience in budget and cost management
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship building skills
- Highly motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently and within a team
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute strategic imperatives as a member of Senior Management
- Lead, coach and manage a team of Operational Managers
- Manage the overall efficiency and performance of all feed plant operations
- Ensure compliance with feed quality standards and specifications
- Ensure optimal feed supply to meet customer requirements
- Maintain service levels while optimising plant machinery and equipment performance
- Manage input suppliers and service level agreements
- Manage operational and distribution costs, budgets and profitability across the four facilities
- Oversee stock management of all raw materials, finished products and packaging
- Approve and manage capital budgets and projects
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency and operational performance
- Ensure legal compliance including health, safety, environmental and quality requirements
