A solid next step for a hands-on network engineer with Fortinet experience. You will support a range of clients in a managed services environment, working with FortiGate firewalls, VPNs, routing and security monitoring. About the role
This is a mid-level role for someone who enjoys the technical side of networking and security but also values client interaction. You will join a dynamic technology environment and provide both remote and onsite support to a diverse customer base within managed services agreements.
What you will be doing:
- Administering FortiGate firewalls, including policies, NAT, VPNs and security profiles
- Troubleshooting LAN, WAN, wireless, SD-WAN, routing and switching issues
- Investigating security alerts, vulnerabilities and suspicious activity
- Performing firewall upgrades, configuration reviews and network health checks
- Monitoring network performance and identifying optimisation opportunities
- Building strong customer relationships through professional technical support

Requirements
- Fortinet NSE4 certification or current Fortinet Certified Professional equivalent (mandatory)
- Minimum 3 years hands-on experience in network and security support
- Proven experience administering FortiGate firewalls
- Practical experience with IPsec VPN technologies, routing, switching and firewall policy management
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, NAT, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols and wireless networking
- Demonstrated network security troubleshooting and customer support experience
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices
- Advantageous: CCNA, CompTIA Network+ or equivalent networking certification
- Advantageous: Exposure to FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, FortiSwitch, FortiAP and FortiClient EMS
- Advantageous: Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Azure networking fundamentals
- Advantageous: Exposure to ZTNA, SD-WAN and managed services environments
Responsibilities
- Provide remote and onsite technical support within Managed Services (MSA/SLA) environments
- Administer, configure and maintain FortiGate firewalls including firewall policies, NAT, VPNs and security profiles
- Troubleshoot LAN, WAN, wireless, SD-WAN, routing and switching environments
- Investigate security alerts, vulnerabilities and suspicious network activity
- Perform firewall upgrades, configuration reviews, network health checks and security hardening
- Conduct root cause analysis and ensure incidents are resolved within agreed SLA targets
- Monitor network performance and identify opportunities for optimisation
- Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams and customer service reports
- Build strong customer relationships through professional technical guidance and support
