Success Guide

This is a talent pool listing, which means Dis-Chem is gathering applications for when a position opens up. Your cover letter should show that you understand what merchandising involves: keeping shelves full, rotating stock properly, and providing great customer service. Since they mention up to 6 months retail experience, do not undersell any weekend or holiday work you have done in a store, even if it was short term. Make sure your CV clearly states that you have Matric and include your matric certificate. If you live close to the store in Pietermaritzburg, mention that, as reliable transport is a plus. Retail interviews often include questions about how you would handle a customer looking for a product that is out of stock, so think about how you would respond. This role is physically active, so be ready to talk about your ability to lift boxes and work on your feet. Good luck!
