Overview
Network IT is hiring a Level 3 IT Engineer to join their Sunninghill office in Johannesburg. This is a hands-on technical role for someone who enjoys solving complex infrastructure, network and application problems. You will handle advanced escalations, run root cause analysis and help keep high performance IT environments stable. Office based, Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00.
About the role
Network IT is looking for a Level 3 IT Engineer to join their team in Sunninghill, Johannesburg. This is a permanent, full time, office based role for a technical expert who enjoys solving difficult problems and improving the way IT systems perform.
As a Tier 3 Engineer, you will be the go-to person for advanced technical issues across infrastructure, networks and applications. You will work closely with internal teams, vendors and stakeholders to deliver long term fixes rather than quick patches.
What the role involves:
- Troubleshooting and resolving complex IT incidents that have been escalated to Tier 3
- Running root cause analysis and putting permanent fixes in place
- Optimising infrastructure, networks and system performance
- Managing critical escalations and working with external vendors
- Keeping systems stable and improving uptime
- Driving security best practices like patching and vulnerability management
- Documenting solutions, sharing knowledge and mentoring junior engineers
- Contributing to strategic IT projects such as automation and system upgrades

Requirements
- Proven experience in a Tier 3 or Level 3 IT support or infrastructure role
- Strong expertise in advanced troubleshooting across networks, servers and applications
- Solid understanding of system performance, monitoring and optimisation
- Experience with root cause analysis and problem management
- Knowledge of IT security, patch management and compliance standards
- Ability to work independently on high impact, business critical issues
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage technical and non technical stakeholders
- Must be based in Johannesburg, preferably close to Sunninghill
- Must have own reliable transport for client site visits
- Must be legally eligible to work in South Africa
