About the role
Workforce Staffing is hiring a Laser Cutting Operator for a manufacturing client in Durban. This is a hands on role where you will run and set up a Golden Laze (Magnum) Laser Cutting Machine, working from engineering drawings, job cards and specs to produce accurate components.
What you will be doing:
- Setting up and operating the Golden Laze (Magnum) laser cutting machine
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and job cards
- Measuring, marking, flattening and straightening sheet metal
- Performing laser cutting, profiling and bevel cutting
- Using presses, guillotines, cropping, shearing and punching equipment
- Doing riveting, caulking, sheeting and basic fabrication tasks
- Checking finished parts for accuracy and quality
- Handling materials safely and keeping your work area clean
- Following all machine procedures and PPE requirements
Requirements
- Proven experience operating laser cutting machinery, preferably a Golden Laze (Magnum) machine
- Essential sheet metal and machine shop experience
- Ability to read engineering drawings and measure materials accurately
- Experience with cutting, shearing, punching, pressing and forming
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety
- Familiarity with general fabrication and metalwork practices

- Read and work from engineering drawings, job cards and specifications
- Measure, mark, flatten and straighten sheet metal as needed
- Carry out laser cutting, profiling and bevel cutting on a range of materials
