About the role
Our client, a leader in industrial automation, precision measurement and motion-control technology, wants a technically minded engineering graduate to join their team in Durban. You will work with advanced sensing, positioning and automation solutions from world recognised brands.
Day to day, you will consult with engineers and industrial clients to understand what they need, then recommend the right products and engineering solutions. You will get hands on with precision measurement equipment, encoders, position sensors and automation tech. Expect to build strong customer relationships, prepare technical quotations, and visit clients for product presentations and technical discussions.
This is a great chance to develop deep knowledge of specialised international engineering products while receiving comprehensive product training. You will be part of a stable, technically focused environment with room to grow into senior engineering and product roles.
Requirements
- Diploma, Advanced Diploma, BTech, BEng or BSc in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, Instrumentation or related engineering field
- Strong technical aptitude and interest in industrial automation, sensors and precision engineering
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence to engage with engineers and technical professionals
- Self motivated, inquisitive and eager to become a specialist
- Valid driver's licence
- Previous experience in automation, instrumentation or technical sales is a bonus but not required
Responsibilities
- Consult with engineers, technical specialists and industrial clients to understand application requirements
- Recommend specialised products and engineering solutions for industrial machinery and automated processes
- Work with precision measurement equipment, encoders, position sensors and related automation technologies
- Provide technical product advice and application support
- Build and maintain relationships with existing customers and spot new business opportunities
- Prepare technical quotations and help with product selection
- Conduct client visits, technical discussions and product presentations
- Develop in depth knowledge of specialised international engineering products
