About the role
Our client is a leading specialist in industrial automation, precision measurement and motion-control technology. They represent internationally recognised engineering brands and supply sophisticated sensing, positioning and automation solutions to industrial manufacturers and engineering organisations.
They are looking for technically driven individuals to join their team. This role combines advanced technology, engineering problem solving and direct involvement with industry. You will engage with engineers, technical specialists and industrial clients, recommend specialised products, and provide application support.
Duties include:
- Consulting with engineers, technical specialists and industrial clients to understand their application requirements
- Recommending specialised products and engineering solutions for industrial machinery and automated processes
- Working with precision measurement equipment, encoders, position sensors and related automation technologies
- Providing technical product advice and application support
- Building and maintaining relationships with existing customers while identifying new business opportunities
- Preparing technical quotations and assisting with product selection
- Conducting client visits, technical discussions and product presentations
- Developing in-depth knowledge of specialised international engineering products

Requirements
- Diploma, Advanced Diploma, BTech, BEng or BSc Engineering qualification in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, Instrumentation or a related discipline
- Strong technical aptitude and an interest in industrial automation, sensors and precision engineering
- Good analytical and problem solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence to engage with engineers and other technical professionals
- Self motivated, inquisitive and eager to develop specialist expertise
- Valid driver's licence
- Previous experience in industrial automation, instrumentation or technical sales will be advantageous but is not essential
