About the role
As a Projects Internal Sales Assistant, you will work closely with Sales Engineers to provide technical advice and support on turnkey materials handling projects. Your day to day will involve assisting with site surveys, preparing costings and quotes, and helping to put together consultative sales solutions for both technical and non technical decision makers. You will be the link between the sales team and departments like design, production, purchasing, and quality.
Key parts of the role include:
- Assisting with tender negotiations and preparing accurate project quotes
- Loading quotes into Omni and updating project files on the shared drive
- Preparing PFDs, P&IDs, costing models, and mini procurement sheets
- Coordinating with project engineers and arranging handover files
- Providing after sales support and keeping customer records up to date
- Attending trade shows and conferences to support marketing activities

Requirements
- A recognised engineering qualification
- At least 3 years experience in a similar internal sales or technical sales support role
- Experience with bulk handling equipment and or systems is an added advantage
- Solid technical background with the ability to explain technical solutions to customers
- Organisational and planning skills

Responsibilities
- Assist Sales Engineers with site surveys and preparing consultative sales solutions
- Support the sales team in negotiating tender and contract terms
- Help host technical presentations and demonstrate how products and projects meet customer needs
- Liaise with colleagues from design, production, purchasing, quality, and senior management
- Prepare costing models and mini procurement sheets
- Prepare PFDs and P&IDs for projects
- Load quotes into Omni and update project files on the shared drive
- Prepare accurate detailed project quotes and provide pre sales technical assistance
- Coordinate projects together with project engineers
- Prepare handover files and arrange handover to the project team
- Provide after sales support and technical backup as required
- Prepare reports and keep customer records updated
- Attend trade shows and conferences to support marketing activities
- Meet monthly and annual sales targets
- Carry out any other sales assistant or administrative duties as required
