About the role
Our client, a leader in payment solutions, is looking for a driven Junior Software Developer to join their growing team. You will work on innovative systems with a focus on Laravel and Vue or Java stacks, while gaining exposure to other modern languages like Python, Rust and Go.
The role is remote-first, but you must be Gauteng-based and available for in-person collaboration at the Pretoria office as needed. You will take ownership of full projects from concept to deployment, sharpening your skills across the stack in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

Requirements
- 2 to 5 years of hands-on software development experience
- Required core experience with Git, JSON and either Laravel plus Vue OR Java
- Preferred additional skills in any of Python, Rust or Go
- BSc in Computer Science or a related field
- Solid understanding of programming standards
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Willingness to complete PL/SQL training if not already skilled
- Must be based in Gauteng and able to attend bi-weekly or ad hoc in-person meetings in Pretoria
- Equipped to work from home with stable internet and a dedicated workspace
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required
Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality software solutions based on technical specifications and business needs
- Engage with third-party documentation and technical contacts to gather requirements
- Participate in solution design, time estimation and the rollout of new features
- Provide documentation including process flows and program summaries
- Maintain, support and enhance existing systems
- Take ownership of full projects with no siloed front-end or back-end work
