You will use your mechanical and electrical skills to keep high speed processing and slaughtering lines running safely. About the role
Goldi, part of the Astral Foods Group, is offering an exciting opportunity for a Junior Millwright to join their engineering and maintenance team in Standerton. You will report to the Engineering Shift Foreman and play a key role in keeping the plant running smoothly.
In this role, you will perform preventative maintenance, attend to breakdowns, assist with installations, and work on boilers and refrigeration equipment. You will also conduct inspections, complete reports, and participate in improvement initiatives. This is a hands on position that combines both mechanical and electrical expertise in a fast paced food processing environment.

Requirements
- Minimum N2 qualification
- Trade certificate as a Millwright
- Must be computer literate
- Must be prepared to work weekends, shifts, and public holidays when necessary
- Experience in the Food Processing Industry would be an added advantage
- Refrigeration Plant Room experience will be an added advantage
- Scales or electronic experience will be an added advantage
- Must have sober habits
- Must adhere to all relevant industry regulations
- Must have own reliable transport
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical and mechanical preventative maintenance on all plant equipment
- Attend to breakdowns on plant equipment
- Assist with new mechanical and electrical installations
- Assist with maintenance on boilers and refrigeration equipment
- Conduct inspections and complete reports as required
- Complete root cause analysis on all breakdowns
- Identify improvement opportunities
- Participate in the 20 keys improvement system
