Overview
Stratogo is hiring a Junior Creditors Clerk for a fixed term role in Durban. You will support the Finance Department of a growing spices and food distribution company, handling the full creditors function from invoice to payment. About the role
Our client, a well established and fast growing company specialising in the distribution of spices and food products based in Durban, is looking for a Junior Creditors Clerk to join their Finance Department.
Purpose of the role: To support the Finance Department with accurate and timeous processing of all creditor transactions.
You will be part of a finance team that keeps supplier payments running smoothly. The role involves working closely with Procurement and Warehouse teams, maintaining accurate records, and making sure everything is ready for month end and audits.

Requirements
- Grade 12 with Accounting or Maths (essential)
- Diploma or Certificate in Finance, Accounting or Bookkeeping will be advantageous
- 1 to 2 years proven experience as a Creditors Clerk or Accounts Payable Clerk
- Experience in FMCG, Food Distribution or Manufacturing highly advantageous
- Proficient in MS Excel and Sage, Pastel Evolution or SAP B1
- Accurate, detail orientated and able to meet strict deadlines
- Must reside in or around Durban and be available immediately or on short notice
Responsibilities
- Handle the full creditors function from invoice to payment
- Capture supplier invoices for spices, raw materials, packaging and transport costs
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve queries and price differences
- Prepare payment requisitions and assist with weekly payment runs
- Liaise with Procurement and Warehouse regarding GRVs and delivery notes
- Maintain age analysis and audit ready filing
- Assist the Finance Manager with month end tasks
