Success Guide

This is a great first step into banking, and Absa will be looking for someone who is careful with cash and comfortable talking to customers all day.

When you apply, make sure your CV shows any cash handling, customer service or retail experience you have, even from part time or holiday work. Mention that you understand the importance of checking IDs and following fraud prevention rules. In an interview for a teller role, they often ask how you would handle a cash difference or an upset customer, so think about clear examples in advance. It also helps to know Absa's digital banking options, because part of the job is guiding customers to self service channels.
