Intermediate Life Support Practitioner and Firefighter at Netcare 911 Seriti, New Denmark
Netcare Group · New Denmark
Overview
Netcare 911 Seriti is looking for an Intermediate Life Support Practitioner who can also work as a firefighter at their New Denmark base. This is a full time role for someone with emergency medical care training who wants to combine lifesaving medical response with firefighting duties. If you are registered with the HPCSA and ready to serve your community in high pressure emergency situations, this opportunity with a leading private hospital group could be a great fit for your career.
About the role
As an Intermediate Life Support Practitioner and Firefighter with Netcare 911 Seriti, you will be part of an emergency response team that handles both medical emergencies and fire related incidents. Your days will involve responding to calls, assessing patients, providing intermediate life support care, and working alongside your team to manage fires and other emergencies.
You will be based at the New Denmark operation and will need to be ready to work shifts, including nights and weekends, because emergencies do not keep office hours. This role suits someone who stays calm under pressure, communicates well with patients and colleagues, and takes pride in helping people in their most difficult moments.
Important application note: Make sure your CV clearly shows your HPCSA registration and your ILS qualification. If you have firefighting certifications, include those too, as they are directly relevant to this dual role. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

Success Guide
This role combines two demanding but rewarding fields: emergency medical care and firefighting. If you are an ILS practitioner who also has firefighting training, you are in a strong position because not many people hold both sets of skills. When you apply, put your HPCSA registration and ILS qualification right at the top of your CV so the recruiter sees them immediately. Also mention any firefighting courses or practical experience you have. In an interview, expect questions about how you handle high stress situations, how you work in a team, and maybe some scenario based questions about patient care or fire response. Be ready to talk about your shift work experience too, because this job will require flexibility. If you are physically fit and passionate about helping people, this could be a solid next step in your career with a well known emergency services brand.
