Arid Talent Solutions is looking for an experienced Information Security Analyst for a fixed term contract in Sandton. You will work with stakeholders on new security products, manage incidents, implement security technologies and help shape security standards. About the role
This fixed term contract role based in Sandton places you right in the middle of information security work within a banking environment. You will be part of a team that reviews, implements and oversees security technologies and standards while working closely with stakeholders and vendors.
What the day to day looks like:
- Building relationships with stakeholders so that knowledge and input on new products and solutions can flow easily
- Managing and resolving information security incidents using your expertise and internal networks
- Researching, selecting and implementing new security technologies, including proof of technology and proof of concept work
- Interpreting MIS and system logs and reports to correct any deviations from best practices
- Creating, reviewing and maintaining information security standards, processes and procedures
- Guiding and supervising administrators and other analysts through changes and implementations
- Providing technical mentoring and sharing industry trends with the team
- Attending tech security industry forums and presenting technical papers

Requirements
- Advanced Diploma or National 1st Degree at NQF Level 7
- 10 to 15 years of experience in an IT environment
- At least 2 years in a senior role feeding career streams
- At least 3 to 5 years specialising in an Information Security technology
- Knowledge of banking, governance, risk and controls
- Understanding of relevant software, systems and regulatory knowledge
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and cluster specific operational knowledge
- Business writing skills and knowledge of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Knowledge of information security threats and attacks, terms and definitions
- Principles of project management, basic computer concepts and TCP/IP
- Vendor management principles and information security policies and procedures
- Data analysis skills and knowledge of relevant operating systems
Responsibilities
- Build stakeholder relationships to support the flow of knowledge and discussion on new products and solutions
- Manage and resolve information security incidents
- Propose cost effective solutions that meet information security requirements within budget
- Provide input into vendor negotiations for new and existing technologies and services
- Participate in research and development related to specific information security technology
- Participate in proof of technology and proof of concept exercises
- Oversee the implementation of changes and check for shortcomings and risks
- Interpret MIS and system logs and reports to correct deviations against best practices
- Identify and set selection criteria for new products and participate in their implementation and handover
- Create, maintain and review information security standards, processes and procedures
- Oversee and monitor the environment against set standards
- Review and contribute to project documentation and mitigate risks
- Implement specific information security technologies and log low, medium and high risk security changes independently
- Provide guidance and supervision to administrators and other analysts on implementation and changes
- Provide technical mentoring related to specific security products
- Attend tech security industry forums and present technical papers
