Inbound Logistics Coordinator at PepsiCo Ceres
PepsiCo · Ceres, Western Cape
Overview
PepsiCo is looking for an Inbound Logistics Coordinator to join their Ceres team in the Western Cape. This is a hands-on shift role where you will coordinate receiving, storage and movement of raw materials and packaging to keep production running smoothly. If you have 3 to 5 years of warehouse or stock control experience in FMCG or manufacturing and you are comfortable with SAP and leading a frontline team, this could be a great next step in your logistics career.
About the role
As an Inbound Logistics Coordinator at PepsiCo Ceres, you will be the person making sure raw materials, ingredients, packaging and consumables arrive safely and on time, and that stock is stored, moved and issued correctly during your shift. You will translate the daily logistics and production plan into clear priorities for your team, allocate work and monitor progress against safety, quality, service and productivity targets.
You will also keep inventory and system records accurate through SAP, PGT and EWM processing, cycle counts and discrepancy follow up. You will act as the first point of escalation when there are delivery delays, material shortages, system issues or damaged stock, and you will support the Logistics Controller with reporting, audits and continuous improvement actions.
Application notes: The listing does not include specific application instructions, documents to attach or an application reference. Please apply through the Pnet listing and make sure your CV clearly shows your inbound logistics or warehouse experience, your SAP or similar system exposure and your experience coordinating a frontline team.

- Practical experience coordinating daily or shift activities and allocating work to frontline employees or service provider resources.
- Working knowledge of SAP, PGT, EWM or an equivalent enterprise and warehouse management system.
- Competence in inventory transactions, stock reconciliation, cycle counting, FIFO or FEFO, traceability, material handling and audit documentation.
- Intermediate Excel and reporting skills, with the ability to interpret operational data and identify exceptions.
- Knowledge of GMP, food safety, quality, cleaning and sanitation, EHS and warehouse compliance requirements.
- Experience resolving operational issues, escalating risk and supporting root cause and continuous improvement processes.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate shift inbound logistics execution, including receiving, inspection, identification, storage, staging, issuing, returns and stock rotation, to support uninterrupted manufacturing.
- Allocate daily work, communicate priorities, monitor completion and escalate resource or performance constraints to the Logistics Controller.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of all relevant SAP, PGT and EWM transactions and supporting documentation, including goods receipts, transfers, issues, returns, reversals and stock status changes.
- Coordinate cycle counts and physical stock checks, investigate variances, complete first line reconciliations and recommend corrective actions within delegated authority.
- Monitor material availability against the production plan, identify shortages or excesses and coordinate replenishment, staging, decanting and escalation actions.
- Control handling of damaged, expired, obsolete, blocked or non conforming material, ensuring segregation, traceability, documentation and timely disposition.
- Coordinate inbound vehicles, transporters and service providers to achieve safe, compliant and efficient delivery, offloading and turnaround performance.

Success Guide
Your CV needs to do more than list duties. For this PepsiCo role, hiring managers will look for proof that you have actually worked with stock systems and led a shift team. Make sure your CV shows specific examples of SAP or similar system transactions you have handled, stock counts you have run, and how you dealt with a material shortage or delivery delay. Mention your exposure to FIFO or FEFO and any food safety or GMP training you have had.
At a factory like Ceres, they will also want to see that you are comfortable working shifts and that you understand how a warehouse supports production. In an interview, expect questions about how you prioritize work when several things go wrong at once and how you keep your team safe on the floor. Be ready to talk through a real problem you solved and what the result was.
