About the role
As an ICU Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing direct and indirect nursing care to patients in a critical care unit. You will work closely with doctors and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for your patients.
Your day to day duties will include:
- Assessing, planning, executing and supervising patient care according to the Scope of Practice
- Communicating effectively with doctors regarding patient requirements
- Contributing to the holistic care of patients
- Attending handover reports at the start of each shift
- Keeping patients informed about their care
- Promoting patient health and wellbeing
- Auditing health records to ensure compliance
- Managing and controlling stock, including charging and crediting appropriately
- Maintaining good public relations with patients, relatives and visitors

Requirements
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse
- Relevant qualifications and nursing experience in ICU
- Advanced Computer Literacy
- Capacity to implement and maintain standards of health practice required by accredited bodies and health legislation
- BLS certificate
- Flexible in working hours and shifts
