About the role

Requirements
- Valid registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
- Post basic qualification in Critical Care or Intensive Care Nursing
- Experience working in an ICU or high care unit
- Ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends
- Strong clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
- Good communication skills for working within a multidisciplinary team
Responsibilities
- Monitor and care for critically ill patients in the ICU
- Administer medication, treatments and intravenous therapy as prescribed
- Observe patients for changes in condition and report to the registered nurse or doctor
- Operate and monitor life support and other specialised ICU equipment
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Support patients and their families with information and reassurance
- Work closely with doctors and other team members during rounds and emergencies
