Overview
Sasso Consulting is hiring 5 experienced IBM DataPower Administrators in Johannesburg. You will manage and secure enterprise integration gateways, working with SSL/TLS, API gateways, and network infrastructure. This is a permanent, full time role for someone with at least 3 years of hands on DataPower experience. About the role
We are looking for skilled IBM DataPower Administrators to join our team in Johannesburg. You will play a key role in managing, securing, and supporting enterprise integration gateways that keep critical business systems connected and protected.
What you will do:
- Install, configure, and maintain IBM DataPower Gateway environments
- Manage SSL/TLS certificates, PKI, and secure communications
- Configure Multi Protocol Gateways, Web Service Proxies, and API Gateway services
- Troubleshoot network connectivity, routing, DNS, and backend integration issues
- Monitor gateway performance, availability, logging, and security
- Handle firmware updates, backups, configuration changes, and deployments
- Support high availability, disaster recovery, and incident resolution
- Work closely with network, infrastructure, security, and integration teams
Important: Proven hands on IBM DataPower experience is non negotiable. General network, Linux, or middleware experience alone will not qualify you for this role.
Requirements
- Relevant IT, Computer Science, Networking, or Engineering diploma or degree
- Minimum 3 years of hands on IBM DataPower administration experience (essential)
- Typically 4 to 6 years of enterprise infrastructure or middleware experience
- Strong knowledge of SSL/TLS, PKI, digital certificates, and cryptographic security
- Experience with TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, firewalls, and network troubleshooting
- Knowledge of SOAP, REST, XML, JSON, and API security
- Understanding of Linux, Windows Server, and enterprise infrastructure
- Experience supporting high availability production environments
- IBM DataPower, CCNA, CompTIA, Linux, or ITIL certifications are advantageous
