About the role
Network IT is looking for a Head of Operations to take charge of a multi functional team supporting mining logistics and supply chain technology across South Africa and selected SADC markets. You will be based in Witbank, Mpumalanga, and report directly to the CEO.
This is a senior leadership role where you translate business strategy into real operational results. You will oversee field services, technician deployment, installation projects and operational readiness across multiple sites. You will also manage budgets, workforce capacity, fleet and subcontractor performance while driving efficiency and cost control.
You will lead and develop managers and supervisors, set clear accountability and handle customer escalations through to resolution. Compliance with site safety and operational standards is key, and you will provide regular reporting and strategic recommendations to the CEO.

Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Management or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of relevant operational experience, including at least 5 years leading managers or supervisors.
- Proven experience managing customer SLAs, operational budgets, field service teams and project delivery.
- Experience in mining services, industrial technology, logistics, telecommunications, managed services or a similar field based environment.
- Strong commercial acumen, people leadership, problem solving and decision making capabilities.
- Willingness to travel regularly to operational sites and support regional operations as required.
- Advantageous: mining contractor and site safety exposure.
- Advantageous: experience supporting 24/7 service delivery environments.
- Advantageous: regional African or SADC operational experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead operational service delivery, ensuring customer SLAs, service quality and customer expectations are consistently met.
- Oversee field services, technician deployment, installation projects and operational readiness across multiple sites.
- Manage operational budgets, workforce capacity, fleet, facilities and subcontractor performance.
- Drive operational efficiency, cost control and continuous improvement without compromising service quality or safety.
- Lead and develop managers and supervisors, establishing clear accountability and strong performance management.
- Manage customer escalations, resolve recurring operational challenges and drive corrective actions through to completion.
- Maintain compliance with site safety requirements and operational standards.
- Provide operational reporting, risk visibility and strategic recommendations to the CEO.
