Overview
Standard Bank is looking for a seasoned audit leader to head up technology internal audit in Johannesburg. You will lead audits across multiple portfolios, work with senior stakeholders and regulators, and help the bank manage tech and cyber risk responsibly. This is a senior full time role for someone with deep IT audit experience, strong leadership skills and a good grasp of IT controls and data analysis.
About the role
As Head of Internal Audit for Technology at Standard Bank, you will lead and review the audit process across several portfolios and areas of specialty. Your work will support the Group Internal Audit strategy by providing independent and objective assurance and advice within your segment. The goal is to help the bank manage risk in a sustainable, client focused way.
You can expect to build and lead large audit teams, plan and direct audit work, and engage with senior stakeholders and regulators across the ecosystem. You will also analyse complex data to spot trends and provide insights, while promoting good governance, risk and control across the organisation. Auditing technology infrastructure and security will be a key part of your focus.

Requirements
- Post Graduate Degree or Degree in IT, Computer Science or Information Systems
- Professional certifications such as CISA or CIA
- ISACA Membership or equivalent
- Other relevant ISACA or equivalent certifications like CISM, CGEIT, CRISC or CCAK
- Management or leadership programmes through accredited institutes
- Financial services strategy programmes
- 10 years proven experience in project or programme management
- Experience leading multiple audit or advisory projects across an organisation
- Experience building partnerships and engaging with senior stakeholders and regulators
- Understanding of IT general and application controls
- Experience analysing complex data sets to interpret, visualise and identify trends
- Experience building and leading large teams and managing change
- Experience auditing technology infrastructure and security
- Experience in audit firms, financial services (banking or insurance) or telecommunications
- Learning and use of AI in auditing
