About the role
An established industrial and manufacturing group is looking for an experienced Head of Finance to take ownership of its finance department. This is a hands-on senior leadership role where you will work closely with executive management to strengthen financial controls and drive business performance.

- Lead the full finance function, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Oversee costing, margin analysis, and operational finance across a manufacturing environment
- Manage statutory compliance, taxation, VAT, and external audit processes
- Provide commercial and strategic financial guidance to executive leadership
- Develop financial models, management reports, and performance analysis
- Mentor and develop the finance team, fostering accountability and high performance
- Identify and implement process improvements and operational efficiencies
- Partner with operational stakeholders to improve cost management and business performance

Requirements
- CA(SA) qualification is non-negotiable
- Minimum 10 years of finance experience
- Minimum 5 years in a senior finance leadership role
- Proven experience leading a finance department and managing finance teams
- Manufacturing, production, industrial, or chemical manufacturing experience is essential
- Strong financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management experience
- Solid costing, margin analysis, and operational finance exposure
- Experience with statutory compliance, tax, VAT, audits, and financial governance
- Working capital management and treasury experience
- ERP system experience is essential; SAP is advantageous
- Advanced Excel and strong financial reporting systems experience
- Excellent analytical, financial modelling, and commercial skills
- Assertive leadership style with strong business partnering capabilities
Responsibilities

- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes
- Oversee costing, margin analysis, and operational finance across the manufacturing environment
- Drive working capital management, treasury, and cash flow optimisation
- Manage statutory compliance, taxation, VAT, and external audit processes
- Provide commercial and strategic financial guidance to executive leadership
- Develop and manage financial models, management reports, and performance analysis
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to ensure accountability and high performance
- Strengthen internal financial controls, governance, and reporting procedures
- Identify and implement process improvements and operational efficiencies
- Partner with operational stakeholders to improve cost management and business performance
- Ensure effective utilisation of ERP systems and financial reporting tools
