About the role
People Dimension is looking for a Hardware & Tools Counter Salesman to join a business in Kew, Johannesburg. This is a full time, permanent position suited to someone who understands hardware and tools and enjoys working with customers face to face.
What you will be doing:
- Assisting walk in customers with hardware and tool product enquiries at the counter
- Servicing and growing an existing customer base
- Developing new business to business customer relationships to grow sales
- Preparing quotations and processing customer orders
- Providing product advice and recommending suitable products
- Following up on quotations and potential sales
- Building strong, long term relationships with customers
- Assisting with general counter sales and day to day sales duties
The role comes with a salary of R15 000 to R20 000 gross per month plus commission on sales.
Requirements
- Previous experience in hardware and tools is essential
- Proven sales experience
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Basic email and computer skills
- Must be motivated, reliable and target driven
- Excel experience is not required
