Pick n Pay is looking for a Grocery Floor Manager to lead the grocery department at their Bloem Plaza store in the Free State. You will drive sales, manage stock and lead a team to deliver excellent customer service. About the role
As the Grocery Floor Manager at Pick n Pay Bloem Plaza, you will be responsible for the overall performance of the grocery department. You will lead the grocery team, make sure shelves are stocked and look great, and keep customers happy with friendly and efficient service. You will also manage stock levels, control costs, and implement promotions that drive sales.
The role combines commercial thinking with hands on operational work. You will spend time on the floor inspecting displays, checking stock rotation, monitoring expiry dates, and resolving any issues that come up during the day. You will also work closely with suppliers and other store departments to keep things running smoothly.

Requirements
- Grade 12 or Matric certificate
- A relevant retail management qualification would be advantageous
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in grocery retail operations
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or management position
- Experience managing departmental sales, stock and profitability
- Experience managing and developing teams in a retail environment
Responsibilities
- Drive grocery sales, gross profit and departmental profitability against budget and targets
- Analyse sales trends, margins, shrinkage and stock movement to identify opportunities
- Manage stock levels, ordering, replenishment and stock rotation
- Control stock losses, wastage, damages and expiry dates and investigate stock variances
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and merchandising standards
- Implement promotional activities and ensure correct pricing and product displays
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and food safety standards
- Resolve customer complaints promptly and monitor customer feedback
- Lead, coach and develop the grocery team and manage staff scheduling and attendance
- Identify training needs and build a high performance team through clear communication
