About the role
Eskom's Group Capital Division is hiring a General Manager for Project Management in Technology Projects. In this executive role, you will provide strategic leadership across the full project lifecycle, making sure technology solutions are delivered, commissioned, and handed over into commercial operation in line with approved business cases.
You will work from Sunninghill and report directly to the Group Executive of the Group Capital Division. Your focus spans strategy, construction management, financial performance, risk, people, and stakeholder relationships on major capital investment projects.
- Set and direct the delivery strategy for capital investment projects.
- Oversee the construction management programme end to end.
- Drive financial performance and optimise capital investment across the project lifecycle.
- Lead strategic interfacing, negotiations, change management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Direct project risk strategies to reduce impact on capital investment.
- Manage the human resource effort needed to achieve project objectives.
- Report on project milestones to key stakeholders.

Requirements
- B Degree in Built Environment at NQF 7 level with 360 credits, or
- B Tech in Built Environment at NQF 7 level with 360 credits, or
- Advanced Diploma in Built Environment at NQF 7 level with 360 credits
- Minimum 10 years of experience in construction management, engineering, or project management
- Knowledge of project and contracts management, renewables, engineering, EPC, construction management, EVM, planning and scheduling, quantity surveying, cost engineering, and financial management
- Strong decision making, analysis, problem solving, and judgement skills
- Client focus and excellent organisational communication
- Ability to develop organisational talent and provide strategic functional leadership
- Negotiation, persuasiveness, and conflict resolution abilities
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with complexity
- Leadership capabilities including team leadership, coaching and mentoring, change leadership, strategic thinking, delegation, and stakeholder mobilisation
- Behavioural attributes such as integrity, honesty, trustworthiness, professionalism, emotional maturity, and business acumen

- Position and direct the strategy for delivery of the capital investment project
- Direct the delivery of the construction management programme for the capital investment project
