Overview
Coricraft, part of The Foschini Group, is looking for a Frame Assembly Supervisor to lead the frame assembly team at their Epping factory in Cape Town. You will oversee production targets, quality standards and team performance in a busy furniture manufacturing environment. This role suits someone with 3 to 5 years of furniture manufacturing experience and at least 2 years in a supervisory position. About the role
As the Frame Assembly Supervisor at Coricraft's Epping factory, you will lead and coordinate the frame assembly function to ensure furniture frames are assembled safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards. You will be accountable for hitting production targets, managing team performance and maintaining smooth operational flow.
Your work will involve drafting process flow sheets, layouts and technical drawings, preparing basic CAD drawings and design documentation, revising drawings as designs change, and organising drawing files to keep version control tight. You will support senior team members with drawing outputs and make sure all drafting follows established procedures and quality requirements.
You will also oversee the team on the factory floor, coach and motivate staff, manage productivity targets and ensure assembled frames meet specifications before moving to the next manufacturing stage. Shift work, overtime and weekend work may be required.

Requirements
- Grade 10
- 3 to 5 years experience in furniture manufacturing, frame assembly or a related production environment
- Minimum 2 years supervisory or team leader experience
- Experience managing production outputs, quality standards and productivity targets
- Experience in employee supervision, coaching and performance management
- Sound knowledge of furniture assembly processes, timber components and manufacturing techniques
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and production schedules
- Strong understanding of health and safety requirements in a manufacturing environment
- Good problem solving and decision making skills
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office advantageous)
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage performance, resolve conflict and promote accountability
- Willingness to work overtime, shifts and weekends when required
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the frame assembly function to ensure safe and efficient production
- Draft elementary process flow sheets, layouts and technical drawings according to drafting standards
- Prepare basic CAD drawings and design documentation for manufacturing or project requirements
- Revise existing drawings and layouts to reflect approved modifications and design updates
- Maintain drawing accuracy by incorporating feedback, corrections and technical specifications
- Trace and reproduce drawings from higher level drafting personnel for record keeping and distribution
- Store and organise drawing files and documentation for accessibility, durability and version control
- Prepare drawing outputs for review, reproduction and project use
- Apply established drafting procedures, standards and quality requirements
- Achieve production targets and manage team performance on the factory floor
- Ensure assembled frames meet all quality and production specifications before moving to the next stage
- Coach, motivate and develop team members
- Maintain operational efficiencies and promote a safety conscious work environment
