About the role
Jewelvest has a permanent full time opportunity for an experienced Fine Jewellery Sales Consultant in Cape Town. You will be the face of the store, guiding customers through their purchase journey and making sure every sale runs smoothly from start to finish.
Your day to day will involve listening to customers, understanding what they want, and helping them find the perfect piece. You will also handle cash and card payments, balance the till, complete banking, and keep up to date with current promotions and store policies.
- Assist customers with fine jewellery selections based on their needs and preferences
- Process cash and credit payments accurately
- Complete sales summaries, count money, separate charge slips, and handle banking
- Keep records related to sales and stock movements
- Stay informed about sales promotions, payment policies, and security practices
- Work retail hours as required by the business
Requirements
- Experience in fine jewellery sales is essential
- Ability to speak a foreign language is an advantage
- A genuine passion for customer service
- Willingness to work retail hours, including weekends and busy periods
- Strong attention to detail when handling cash and sales records
Responsibilities
- Establish what each customer wants and needs, then recommend jewellery that matches
- Open and close sales accurately, including counting money, separating charge slips, balancing cash, and completing banking
- Process cash and credit payments, compute sales prices, and issue receipts
- Maintain knowledge of current promotions, payment and exchange policies, and security procedures
- Keep sales records up to date
- Help customers locate or obtain merchandise based on their requests
- Accommodate other sales and customer requests as the business requires
