Success Guide

This is a great foot in the door if you are starting out in financial planning. Liberty is a well known name in South African insurance and financial services, so getting experience here counts for a lot.

Because the role is commission based, you need to be comfortable with the idea that your income depends on how well you build and serve your client base. The 70/30 split is generous compared to many similar roles, but it still means you eat what you kill.

When you apply, highlight any sales experience you have, even if it was in retail or a call centre. They want to see that you can talk to people, listen to their needs and follow through. Also make sure your CV clearly shows your NQF 5 or related qualification.

In an interview, be ready to talk about how you would approach a client who is nervous about investing. They will want to see that you can simplify complex financial concepts and build trust.
