About the role
Communicate Finance is seeking a Financial Controller to join their team in Cape Town City Bowl. This is a permanent full time position for a finance professional who enjoys reporting, compliance, process improvement, and managing the month end function.
In this role you will be responsible for the full month end and year end financial reporting process, reviewing management accounts, and ensuring the accuracy of general ledger reconciliations and balance sheet substantiation. You will manage cash flow reporting, working capital requirements, and oversee VAT, tax, and statutory compliance. You will also coordinate annual audit processes, monitor financial controls, and identify areas for process improvement.
You will review and approve journals, reconciliations, and accounting entries, assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, and support senior management with financial analysis and business performance reporting. This role offers the chance to work in a fast paced environment where strong analytical and stakeholder management skills are valued.

Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of Financial Accounting or Financial Control experience
- Strong financial reporting and compliance knowledge
- Experience managing month end and year end reporting cycles
- Advanced Excel skills
- ERP systems experience advantageous
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast paced environment
- BCom Accounting or related degree
- CA(SA), SAIPA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification advantageous
