About the role
This is a hands-on role for a confident Financial Accountant who enjoys taking ownership and working in a fast-paced, evolving business. You will report to the CFO and be responsible for the day-to-day finance function of one of the group's companies, while also managing month-end reporting and reconciliations across several group entities.
You will oversee payments, debtors, cash flow, and financial controls, prepare monthly management accounts and journals, handle intercompany transactions, and ensure VAT, payroll, and tax reconciliations are accurate. You will also supervise two finance administrators and help improve systems and controls where needed.

Requirements
- BCom Accounting degree or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 4 years of relevant accounting experience
- Proven experience preparing management accounts and independently managing month-end
- Solid multi-company and intercompany accounting experience
- Strong reconciliations, financial reporting, and cash flow management skills
- Proficiency in an accounting package such as Sage, Pastel, Xero or similar
- Advanced Excel skills
- Working knowledge of VAT, payroll accounting and SARS requirements
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, overseeing payments, debtors, cash flow and financial controls
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, journals and reconciliations
- Manage month-end close across multiple companies
- Handle intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- Monitor cash flow, prioritise payments and support effective collections
- Oversee VAT, payroll and tax reconciliations, SARS compliance and audit preparation
- Maintain accurate financial records and fixed asset registers
- Identify weaknesses in existing processes and implement improved systems, controls and procedures
- Provide guidance and oversight to two finance administrators
- Support senior management with financial reporting, tenders and other business requirements
