A global logistics and distribution company is rolling out a major financial system across South Africa and its international operations. They need a Finance Project Manager on a fixed term contract to lead the finance workstreams during this multi country implementation. About the role
Our client, a global distribution and logistics giant, is implementing and rolling out a new financial system across South Africa and its international operations. They are looking for a Finance Project Manager on a fixed term contract for the duration of the implementation and rollout. This is more than an ERP implementation. You will lead the finance workstreams across General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Procurement, making sure billing is accurate, supplier payments run smoothly, multi currency reporting is reliable and financial controls stay strong across all operating countries.
You will work closely with finance stakeholders across different countries and business functions, manage project plans, budgets, risks and dependencies, and help drive change management, training and business readiness. The role also involves overseeing financial data migration, testing, cutover and go live readiness, and ensuring a smooth handover to business as usual teams.

Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is essential
- CA(SA), CIMA, SAIPA or equivalent professional qualification is advantageous
- PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent project management certification is advantageous
- 7 or more years of finance experience
- 3 or more years of project management experience
- Advanced MS Excel skills, including financial modelling and reconciliations
- Financial system or ERP implementation experience
- Experience with multi entity, multi currency accounting and group consolidation
- Strong understanding of financial controls, reconciliations, data migration and system interfaces
- Working knowledge of IFRS, particularly foreign currency translation and consolidation
- Experience with rate cards, pricing structures or billing models is advantageous
- Strong project governance, planning and stakeholder management skills
- Experience managing implementation partners, budgets and deliverables
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliver under pressure
- Logistics, courier, freight, transport or distribution industry experience is strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Lead the finance workstreams from system design through implementation, go live and country rollout
- Define financial system requirements across General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Procurement
- Drive the implementation of a global chart of accounts and multi currency consolidation
- Oversee financial data migration, testing, cutover and go live readiness
- Ensure accurate client billing, supplier rates and outsourced driver charges
- Validate financial system interfaces and reconciliation controls
- Oversee intercompany accounting, foreign exchange and group reporting requirements
- Embed financial controls, approval workflows and audit trails
- Manage project plans, milestones, budgets, risks and dependencies
- Monitor implementation partner deliverables and resolve project issues
- Coordinate finance stakeholders across countries and business functions
- Drive finance related change management, training and business readiness
- Deliver project status reports and steering committee or board updates
- Ensure a smooth handover to business as usual teams
