About the role
This is a senior finance role for a qualified professional who enjoys being close to the numbers and the factory floor. You will take ownership of the end-to-end finance function for a well-established manufacturing business in Pretoria East, combining strategic input with hands-on operational finance work.
What the day to day looks like:
- Running monthly, quarterly and annual reporting under IFRS, including management accounts and variance analysis
- Leading budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and cash flow management
- Overseeing product costing, inventory control and bill of materials accuracy
- Analysing profitability by product, customer, region and channel
- Partnering with operations, supply chain, procurement and commercial teams to challenge the status quo and improve performance
- Managing statutory compliance, tax, audits and governance
- Driving process improvements, automation and stronger financial controls

Requirements
- Qualified CA(SA) or ACMA/CGMA is non-negotiable
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is essential
- Proven experience as a Financial Manager or in a senior finance leadership role
- Strong management accounting and costing experience
- Solid understanding of IFRS and financial reporting
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Syspro or Sage
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving ability
- Strong commercial acumen and operational finance exposure
- High attention to detail and excellent communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment

Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end finance function and financial management of the business
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting in line with IFRS
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and cash flow management
- Drive month-end close procedures and deliver accurate management accounts
- Perform detailed variance analysis and provide meaningful insights to management
- Partner closely with operations, supply chain, procurement and commercial teams
- Oversee product costing, inventory control and bill of materials accuracy
- Analyse profitability across products, customers, regions and channels
- Manage statutory compliance, tax submissions, audits and governance requirements
- Monitor working capital, cash flow and foreign exchange exposure
- Drive process improvement initiatives, automation projects and reporting enhancements
- Strengthen financial controls, risk management frameworks and audit outcomes
- Support strategic decision-making through financial modelling and business analysis
