Sasso Consulting is hiring 5 experienced Database Administrators to work on business critical enterprise systems. This is a great fit for a DBA with at least 5 years of hands on experience managing large databases who wants to work on performance, security and high availability across production environments. Based in Centurion, Gauteng.
About the role
Are you a Database Administrator who enjoys keeping critical systems running smoothly? Sasso Consulting is looking for experienced DBAs to join their team and take ownership of enterprise database environments. You will be responsible for making sure databases are fast, secure and always available.
Day to day, you can expect to install and configure databases, monitor performance and tune SQL queries, set up backups and disaster recovery plans, manage replication and failover solutions, and respond to production incidents when they arise. You will also work on database upgrades, migrations, security controls and automation of routine tasks.
This role is based in Centurion, Gauteng and there are 5 positions available.
Requirements
- Relevant IT, Computer Science or Information Systems diploma or degree
- Minimum 5 years of hands on enterprise database administration experience
- Proven experience supporting business critical production databases
- Strong expertise in at least one of: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL or IBM Db2
- Advanced SQL, query optimisation and performance tuning skills
- Practical experience with backup, recovery, replication and high availability
- Knowledge of database security, access management and monitoring
- Experience with Windows Server, Linux or UNIX
- Scripting experience using SQL, PowerShell, Python or Shell
- Cloud database experience with Azure or AWS is advantageous
- Relevant database administration certifications are advantageous
- Important: applicants must show substantial hands on enterprise DBA experience. SQL development, reporting or data analysis experience alone is not sufficient
