About the role
As an Enrolled Nurse on the theatre floor at Netcare N1City Hospital, you will play a key role in supporting surgical teams and ensuring patients receive safe, quality care during their theatre journey.
What you can expect in this role:
- Prepare and maintain the theatre environment before, during, and after procedures.
- Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, and other pre-operative tasks.
- Support scrub nurses and surgeons by handing instruments and supplies as needed.
- Monitor patients recovering from anaesthesia in the recovery area.
- Keep accurate records of patient care and theatre activity.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols at all times.
- Communicate clearly with the theatre team and other departments.

Requirements
- Qualified Enrolled Nurse with current SANC registration.
- Ideally 1 to 2 years of experience in a theatre or surgical environment.
- Strong understanding of theatre procedures and sterile technique.
- Ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Compassionate and patient focused attitude.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure in a fast paced setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing the theatre and equipment for surgical cases.
- Support the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments and supplies.
- Monitor patients in the recovery room after surgery.
- Maintain sterile fields and follow infection control standards.
- Complete patient documentation accurately and on time.
- Communicate effectively with nurses, doctors, and other staff.
- Help with cleaning and restocking of theatre areas after cases.
