About the role
Netcare Akasia Hospital has an opening for an Enrolled Nurse in their Intensive Care Unit. You will be part of a team that provides round the clock care to critically ill patients and their families.
Day to day you can expect to monitor patients, assist with procedures, administer medication under supervision and keep accurate patient records. You will also support the Registered Nurses and doctors in the unit while making sure patients are comfortable and safe.
This role suits someone who stays calm under pressure, pays attention to detail and genuinely cares about people. ICU experience is a big plus, but a willingness to learn and grow in critical care matters just as much.
Requirements
- Registered as an Enrolled Nurse with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
- Relevant nursing qualification from an accredited institution
- Experience in an ICU or high care setting is advantageous
- Strong observation and patient monitoring skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Compassionate and professional approach to patient care
Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patients vital signs and general condition
- Assist with nursing procedures and treatments in the ICU
- Administer medication and treatments as directed by the nursing team
- Support patients with daily living activities and comfort
- Keep accurate patient records and report changes to senior staff
- Work closely with doctors, registered nurses and other healthcare professionals
