About the role
As an Engineering Lead II, you will be responsible for end to end technical governance, systems analysis, and solution architecture for core digital platforms, portals, and cloud services. You will translate high level architectural strategy into detailed designs and work closely with software designers, stakeholders, and delivery teams to create future proof systems.
Key duties include:
- Formulating and governing robust technical solutions across multiple technologies through architectural governance forums.
- Translating architectural blueprints into lower level software designs and guiding trade offs between delivery speed, performance, and risk.
- Contributing to the Engineering Lead Chapter by coaching and mentoring developers to enhance technical capabilities across squads.
- Partnering with product managers and leading troubleshooting efforts on complex system level delivery blockers to maintain production stability.

Requirements
- 8 or more years of experience designing holistic, scalable enterprise software solutions, decomposing complex architectures, and managing non functional requirements such as security, reliability, and scale.
- Hands on exposure to CI CD pipelines, modern tooling, and automated deployment practices in enterprise cloud environments.
- Experience with multi operating system environments, web application architectures, production web portals, and relational or modern data models.
- Education: Diploma or Degree in BSc Computer Science, BCom Information Systems, or equivalent NQF Level 6 or higher.
- Nice to have: Certifications such as TOGAF, ITIL, or related enterprise architecture or service delivery frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience leading an engineering chapter, driving code and design reviews, and standardizing development best practices.
Responsibilities
