GIBB, one of South Africa's leading engineering consulting firms, is looking for a Digital Transformation and Data Manager to join their IT team in Cape Town CBD. You'll drive digital strategy, manage enterprise data and analytics, and lead AI and automation initiatives across the business. GIBB is a multi disciplinary engineering consulting company with over 60 years of experience across South Africa and Africa. Their IT Department is looking for a Digital Transformation and Data Manager to bridge the gap between business units, IT, and executive leadership.
In this role, you will lead the organisation's digital transformation strategy, treating data as a strategic asset. You will drive enterprise data management, analytics, business reporting, digital solutions delivery, and Artificial Intelligence initiatives. Your work will directly improve operational efficiency, business performance, and client value.
You will manage a team of analysts, developers, and data professionals, and work closely with executives to ensure digital initiatives align with organisational goals. The role covers data governance, business intelligence, digital delivery, AI strategy, and stakeholder change management.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field
- 5 or more years of experience in information technology, business intelligence, analytics, or digital transformation
- 2 or more years of experience leading teams or strategic digital initiatives
- Experience with enterprise reporting and analytics platforms
- Experience delivering digital transformation programmes
- Experience implementing data governance frameworks
- Knowledge of data governance, business intelligence, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, SQL, data modelling, and data warehousing
- Skills in process automation, Power Automate, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Copilot, AI governance, and Digital Twin platforms
- Project and portfolio management abilities
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the enterprise data and analytics roadmap, including data governance frameworks and policies
- Manage enterprise data platforms, data warehouses, and data integrations
- Own the enterprise reporting and business intelligence platform, developing executive dashboards and KPI frameworks
- Drive self service analytics using tools such as Power BI
- Lead digital transformation initiatives, identifying opportunities for automation and process digitisation
- Oversee the delivery of digital products, platforms, and business applications
- Develop and implement the organisation's AI strategy, including Microsoft Copilot and intelligent automation tools
- Establish AI governance, standards, and risk management processes
- Engage with executives and business leaders to align digital initiatives with strategic priorities
- Lead digital change management and user adoption initiatives
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and information governance requirements
- Lead, mentor, and build capabilities within a team of analysts, developers, data professionals, and digital specialists
- Manage external vendors and implementation partners
