About the role
Pick n Pay is hiring a Service Area Assistant for their Deli department at the Promenade store in the Western Cape. This is a full time position where you will play an important role in keeping the deli running smoothly and making sure customers leave happy.
What you will be doing:
- Preparing and wrapping deli products according to set standards
- Stacking and storing products safely and neatly
- Merchandising products to look attractive and meet layout standards
- Pricing random weight and loose selling items correctly
- Checking labels and pricing for accuracy
- Checking product quality, rotating stock, and removing expired items
- Preventing wastage, shrinkage, and damages
- Maintaining the cold chain and checking temperatures where applicable
- Following security procedures
- Operating and cleaning equipment according to standards
- Approaching and advising customers on products in a friendly way
- Processing customer orders according to correct procedures
- Promoting deli products to customers
