Dis-Chem is looking for a DC Dispatch Clerk to join their busy Longmeadow Distribution Centre on the day shift. About the role
Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an opening for a DC Dispatch Clerk at their Distribution Centre in Longmeadow. You will be part of the Dispatch team, helping to keep things running smoothly so that stores get the right stock at the right time.
What you will be doing:
- Scanning boxes to shipment and pallet numbers
- Checking completed warehouse orders against store invoices
- Making sure vehicles are loaded with the correct boxes for each customer
- Scanning cross dock and inter branch invoices correctly
- Resolving day to day queries from internal teams and customers
- Following Good Warehousing Practices and safety rules
- Watching for shrinkage and reporting it
You will work on the day shift at the Longmeadow DC in Edenvale. This is a permanent, full time role reporting into the Dispatch Department. If you have an eye for detail and want to build a career in logistics, this is a good place to start.
Requirements
- Grade 12 or Matric certificate
- Previous experience in dispatch or a similar warehouse role
- Knowledge of distribution centre, logistics and supply chain operations
- Good reading, writing and speaking skills in English
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Must be trustworthy and honest
- Must be a team player with a customer service mindset
- Able to stay calm under pressure
- South African citizen with a clear criminal and credit record (MIE check)
- Valid driver's license and own reliable transport is an advantage
Responsibilities
- Scan multiple boxes to the correct shipment and pallet number
- Adhere to Good Warehousing Practices, SHE programme and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Resolve internal and external day to day queries quickly and efficiently
- Analyse and act on any shrinkage indicators
- Check completed warehouse orders against store invoice details with high accuracy
- Ensure vehicles are loaded with the correct quantity of boxes or parcels for the right customer
- Scan all cross dock and inter branch invoices according to invoice number and correct store
