About the role
As a Data Scientist, you will work with organisations that leverage data, advanced analytics, machine learning and statistical modelling to drive strategic decision making, optimize performance and unlock business value. The role involves building and evaluating machine learning models, conducting exploratory data analysis and preparing data for analysis. You will also translate business requirements into analytical solutions and present insights to stakeholders.

Requirements
- Relevant Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
- Strong Data Science experience
- Strong Python experience for data analysis and model development
- Strong SQL experience
- Strong understanding of statistics, probability, and hypothesis testing
- Experience with exploratory data analysis (EDA) and data preparation
- Experience building and evaluating machine learning models
- Experience with predictive analytics, classification, regression, clustering, and forecasting techniques
- Experience with feature engineering and model optimization
- Experience working with large and complex datasets
- Experience with Scikit-learn and related machine learning libraries
- Experience creating data visualizations and presenting insights to stakeholders
- Experience translating business requirements into analytical solutions
- Understanding of model validation and performance measurement techniques
- Experience working in cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform
- Experience with Git and version control systems
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
- Agile / Scrum experience
- Passion for data, analytics, and continuous learning
- Advantageous: TensorFlow or PyTorch, NLP, Time Series Analysis, Deep Learning, Power BI/Tableau/Looker, Databricks/Apache Spark, Azure Machine Learning/AWS SageMaker/Vertex AI, R programming, experience in Financial Services, Insurance, Telecommunications, Healthcare, or Retail, research driven analytics projects

- Build and evaluate machine learning models for predictive analytics and classification
- Conduct exploratory data analysis and prepare data for modelling
- Apply statistical techniques to test hypotheses and derive insights
- Perform feature engineering and model optimization to improve performance
- Create data visualizations and present findings to stakeholders
- Translate business requirements into analytical solutions
- Work with large and complex datasets using Python and SQL
- Implement model validation and performance measurement techniques
- Collaborate in an Agile/Scrum environment
