About the role
Sasso Consulting is looking for experienced Data Scientists to join a large-scale enterprise IT environment in Centurion. You will be part of a team that develops advanced analytics, machine learning models and predictive solutions to help the business make smarter decisions.
What you will be doing:
- Develop, train, test and optimise machine learning and predictive models
- Analyse complex datasets to uncover trends, patterns and business insights
- Perform data cleansing, preprocessing and feature engineering
- Build classification, regression, clustering and forecasting solutions
- Apply statistical analysis, hypothesis testing and model validation
- Work with data engineers to integrate and deploy models
- Monitor model performance, accuracy and data drift
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders
- Support AI initiatives, data governance and MLOps practices
Important application note: Please make sure your CV clearly shows hands-on machine learning and predictive modelling experience. Candidates with only Power BI, SQL reporting or general data analysis experience will not be considered for this role.
Requirements
- Relevant degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 4 to 6 years of relevant data science experience
- Proven hands-on machine learning and predictive modelling experience is essential
- Strong Python, SQL, pandas, NumPy and scikit-learn skills
- Experience with statistical analysis, feature engineering and model evaluation
- Knowledge of TensorFlow, PyTorch, XGBoost or similar frameworks
- Exposure to Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Databricks or Snowflake
- Understanding of model deployment, Git and MLOps
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
