About the role
As a Crime Analyst at Nedbank, you will be part of the Forensics team within Risk, Audit and Compliance. Your main job is to help the bank stay ahead of fraud, organised crime, and operational risks by gathering intelligence, analysing information, and supporting investigations from start to finish.
On a typical day you might be:
- Registering, prioritising, and tracking risk events on the bank's case management systems.
- Sifting through data to spot fraud trends, suspicious activity, and links between people or groups.
- Preparing intelligence reports and presenting findings to senior stakeholders.
- Working with law enforcement, industry partners, and internal teams to share information and prevent losses.
- Helping to map criminal networks and support organised crime investigations.
This role sits at the technical level, so you will manage your own work while collaborating closely with forensic investigators and business units across the bank.
Application note: Make sure your application is submitted through Nedbank's official careers portal. You can contact the Nedbank Recruiting Team on +27 860 555 566 if you have questions.

Success Guide
This crime analyst role at Nedbank is a great fit if you have already spent a few years working in banking investigations or forensic analysis. They are asking for at least 5 years of combined experience, so make sure your CV clearly shows your investigation work and your report writing skills. When you apply, highlight any work you have done with risk events, fraud detection, or intelligence analysis. If you have started working towards ICFP or ACFE certification, mention it even if you have not finished. Also be ready to talk about how you have presented findings to senior managers, because that is a key part of the job. A practical cover letter that explains your analytical approach and your experience with case management systems will go a long way.
