Corporate Finance Transactor at RMB, Johannesburg
FNB · Johannesburg, Gauteng
Overview
RMB is looking for a seasoned Corporate Finance Transactor to lead high level deal origination and execution in Johannesburg. If you are a CA(SA) or CFA with 8 to 10 years of experience and you thrive on complex, strategic transactions and building client relationships at board level, this senior full time role offers real scope to shape deals and mentor the next generation of transactors.
About the role
As a Transactor in Corporate Finance at RMB, you will take the lead on originating and executing large, strategically important transactions across priority sectors, products and regions. You will own senior client relationships, engaging regularly with executive management and boards, and drive the client coverage strategy alongside sector and product leaders.
Your day to day will include building a multi year transaction pipeline, delivering gross fee income targets, and spotting opportunities for innovative structuring and value participation beyond traditional fee based deals. You will also be the go to problem solver on complex, high profile transactions, ensuring commercially sound advice from start to finish.
Beyond deal work, you will contribute to sector and product strategy, lead internal capability building through training and deal reviews, and sponsor the development of junior and mid tier transactors. There is also scope to support regional origination efforts across Broader Africa and to collaborate with Clairfield partners.
Application note: Applications must be submitted before the closing date of 11 November 2026. Late applications will not be accepted. The bank applies its Employment Equity plan in all appointments and welcomes candidates with disabilities to disclose information voluntarily.

Success Guide
This is a senior role, so your application needs to show more than just years of experience. Take time to highlight specific transactions you have led from origination to close, the size and complexity of those deals, and the senior client relationships you have managed. If you have exposure to Broader Africa or cross border work, mention it clearly.
Interviewers at RMB will likely probe how you think about deal structuring and how you handle difficult stakeholders under pressure. Be ready with real examples, not hypothetical answers. Also show that you can mentor and develop younger team members, since people sponsorship is a real part of this job. Make sure your CV and supporting certificates are ready well before the 11 November 2026 closing date.
