About the role
Join the Pick n Pay team at Promenade in the Western Cape as a Cook/Deli assistant. You will be responsible for preparing meals according to recipe and quantity specifications while keeping hygiene, housekeeping and safe working standards in place at all times.
What you can expect to do:
- Prepare food items following set recipes and correct portion sizes
- Carry out regular quality checks and rotate stock
- Remove damaged or expired stock and prevent wastage, shrinkage and damages
- Complete all relevant administration and documentation
- Monitor expenses, turnover and gross figures, then take the required action
- Plan daily and weekly production of products
- Communicate clearly with employees and management
- Make sure equipment is maintained and operated according to standards
- Follow all security procedures on site
This is a full time, on site position based at the Promenade store in the Western Cape.
Requirements
- Minimum Grade 12 is essential
- Computer literate is advantageous
- Ability to communicate in English
