About the role
Join a dynamic company in the lifting equipment industry as a Contracts Manager. You will take charge of Suspended Access contracts, ensuring they run safely, efficiently, and profitably while meeting budgeted gross profit targets.
This is a hands on role where you will visit sites, propose technical solutions, quote clients, and manage teams of site managers, supervisors, drivers, and site staff. You will also play a key part in growing the business through customer relationships and sales.
Key focus areas:
- Oversee 10 to 30 simultaneous sites
- Drive a target of zero harm every day
- Control overtime and manage wage percentages
- Build and maintain strong customer and prospect relationships
- Manage sales pipeline in Syrinx and follow up on quotes
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Site Manager or Contracts Manager in construction and mining
- Proven ability to manage 10 to 30 sites simultaneously
- Strong commercial and contracting background
- Previous sales experience would be advantageous
- Experience in both construction and mining industries
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee daily operations of multiple Suspended Access sites
- Conduct site visits and propose technical solutions to clients
- Prepare and submit quotations for jobs
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within budgeted GP%
- Do proper handovers of jobs with supervisors and site managers
- Manage site managers, supervisors, drivers, and site staff daily
- Plan and resource jobs with equipment and personnel
- Control overtime and manage wage percentages
- Build and maintain excellent customer relationships
- Identify new customers and close deals to grow the business
- Visit existing and prospective customers regularly
- Follow up on quotes and give feedback to customers
- Manage prospects and sales pipeline in Syrinx
- Articulate the company value proposition to customers
- Grow the brand in the marketplace
