About the role
Our client is looking for an experienced Commercial Superintendent to take charge of strategic sourcing, commodity and category management, tendering and contract management. You will be based in Barberton and work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to drive commercial value, procurement efficiency and risk management, while staying compliant with legislation and governance requirements.
Day to day, you can expect to coordinate tender packs, oversee vendor shortlisting, build Total Cost of Ownership models, administer contracts and analyse spend data to find commercial opportunities. You will also monitor B-BBEE strategies and develop procurement operating plans across CAPEX and OPEX.

Requirements
- NQF Level 6 or 7 qualification in Logistics, Purchasing or Business Management
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience in Category and/or Commodity Management within the mining industry
- At least 2 years experience at management level
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, SYSPRO, SAGE or Microsoft Dynamics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Valid certificate of physical fitness
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and compile Request for Tender (RFT) packs and manage the tender process end to end
- Oversee vendor shortlisting and tender briefing sessions
- Develop Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models to evaluate tender benefits
- Manage and administer new and existing contracts
- Maintain security of supply and ensure procurement compliance
- Develop, implement and monitor B-BBEE strategies
- Build and maintain supplier and stakeholder relationships
- Analyse spend data and trends to identify commercial value opportunities
- Develop and analyse Procurement Operating Plans for CAPEX and OPEX
- Identify procurement risks and opportunities to improve business performance
