InspHired Recruitment Solutions is hiring a Commercial Insurance Consultant for a client in Parktown, Johannesburg. You will support brokers and authorised representatives with commercial and agricultural policy administration, underwriting and retention. This full time role suits someone with at least 3 years of short term insurance experience who enjoys solving queries, processing policies and helping clients get the right cover.
About the role
This role is about keeping commercial and agricultural insurance policies running smoothly from start to finish. You will be the go to person for brokers and authorised representatives when they need help with general insurance questions or specific policy details.
Day to day you will process new business, policy amendments, renewals and cancellations. You will also assist with commercial and agricultural policy administration and underwriting, and make sure every query is resolved within agreed turnaround times while staying compliant.
Part of the job involves following up on cancelled policies to understand why clients left and implementing retention strategies. You will review and adjust premiums when asset values change, and recommend the most suitable insurance products based on what clients actually need. Managing client expectations around service delivery is key, and you will work closely with colleagues to support continuous process improvements, especially during peak periods.
Requirements
- Matric or Grade 12
- 60 commercial lines FAIS credits
- A relevant insurance related qualification such as NQF level 5 would be advantageous
- Proven work experience in commercial and agriculture policy administration and underwriting within the short term insurance industry
- Minimum of 3 years experience in short term insurance commercial lines and/or agri assets
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating with internal colleagues and external stakeholders
- Ability to optimise work processes
Responsibilities
- Provide telephonic and email support to brokers and authorised representatives
- Respond to general insurance and policy specific enquiries
