About the role
As a Commercial Finance Accountant at Talentfuse, you will support the financial health of the business by making sure costing, pricing, billing and financial controls are accurate and reliable. You will work closely with the Commercial, Finance and Back Office teams to keep ERP and billing systems aligned.
What you will be doing:
- Support month end reporting, invoice auditing and financial data accuracy
- Calculate and maintain cost of sales in the ERP system
- Help the Commercial team with accurate costing for pricing decisions
- Review pricing, discounts and commercial agreements for accuracy
- Investigate and resolve billing and financial discrepancies
- Analyse financial data and monitor costs like overheads, labour and raw materials
- Identify process gaps and support improvements in financial workflows
- Work closely with teams across Finance, Operations and Commercial to keep information aligned
This permanent, full time role is based in Ekurhuleni (East Rand) and offers a competitive salary package of R540K CTC per annum.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting or finance experience
- Experience in costing, pricing and/or commercial finance
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience working with an ERP system
- Strong analytical and problem solving ability
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Advantageous: experience in process improvement, internal audit, manufacturing, FMCG, aviation, hospitality or operationally intensive environments
- Advantageous: experience with costing, pricing, commercial agreements and multiple ERP or billing systems
Responsibilities
- Support the Finance team with invoice auditing, month end reporting and financial data
- Review and reconcile financial transactions and ERP entries
- Monitor billing accuracy between ERP and relevant billing systems
- Investigate and resolve billing and financial discrepancies
- Support stock take activities and fixed asset verification
- Ensure financial information is accurate, complete and submitted on time
- Calculate and maintain cost of sales within the ERP system
- Support the Commercial team with accurate costing information for pricing decisions
- Review and validate pricing data and commercial agreements
- Maintain pricing information following approved price changes and CPI adjustments
- Monitor the integrity of pricing data across ERP and billing systems
- Review discount structures and ensure correct application
- Support new client and menu presentations with cost analysis and cost variations
- Identify cost variances, process gaps and potential cost saving opportunities
- Extract, analyse and validate financial data from ERP systems
- Provide accurate financial information to management
- Monitor overhead, labour, raw material and other operational costs
- Monitor waste and identify opportunities for improved cost control
- Support monthly reporting and ensure deadlines are met
- Identify gaps and inefficiencies within financial, costing and billing processes
- Assist with standardising pricing and approval workflows
- Improve the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes
- Provide guidance and training to Commercial users on data and pricing accuracy
- Act as a finance point of contact for costing, pricing, billing and financial data queries
- Build effective working relationships across departments
