About the role
Watershed Consulting is looking for two experienced Commercial Contracts Managers to join their legal and commercial teams. You could be based in Tygervalley near Bellville in Cape Town or in Rosebank near Sandton in Gauteng.
As a Commercial Contracts Manager, you will work closely with commercial and operational teams, advising on commercial terms, managing the contract lifecycle, and helping the business mitigate legal risk. You will have the chance to work on a wide range of commercial agreements and be involved in FIDIC related matters.

Requirements
- LLB degree
- Must be an admitted attorney in South Africa
- 5 to 8 years of proven commercial or corporate legal experience, either in house or from a law firm
- Demonstrable experience with commercial contracts, commercial terms and FIDIC contracts
- Strong drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
Responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements including supply, services, procurement, partnership and distribution contracts
- Advise on commercial terms, risk allocation and FIDIC related provisions
- Provide practical legal advice to commercial and operational teams to support transactions and projects
- Manage the contract lifecycle, maintain contract registers and develop standard templates
- Conduct legal research and due diligence and support compliance initiatives
- Identify and mitigate contractual and commercial risk and propose pragmatic solutions
- Liaise with external counsel when required and manage external legal spend
- Deliver training and drafting guidance to non legal stakeholders
