About the role
This role is for a hands on CNC Milling Machine Programmer, Setter and Operator who can work independently on the factory floor. You will be responsible for the full machining process, from reading and interpreting technical drawings to delivering finished parts that meet strict dimensional and visual quality standards.
Your day to day work will involve:
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and manufacturing sizes
- Identifying the correct machining steps, set up equipment and jigs
- Programming and setting CNC Milling Machines without assistance
- Selecting and correctly using measuring equipment such as bore and external micrometers and groove measurement tools
- Ensuring parts are manufactured to the required quality and accuracy
- Meeting set up and production targets and efficiencies
- Carrying out first line quality control on manufactured parts
Experience on HM800 with Fanuc Control, Daewoo, Johnford and VMC 1050 with 4th axis machines will be a strong advantage.
Requirements
- Trade tested machinist or millwright qualification
- At least 5 years of CNC Milling Machine setting and programming experience
- Ability to program and set CNC Milling Machines without assistance
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and required manufacturing sizes
- Ability to identify machining requirements and appropriate set up equipment and jigs
- Correct selection and proper use of measuring equipment including bore and external micrometers and groove measurement tools
- First line quality control experience
- Knowledge and understanding of Lean Manufacturing
- Knowledge of ISO is an advantage
