Netcare Greenacres Hospital in Gqeberha is hiring three Clinical Nurses for their ICU team. You will provide specialised, patient centred critical care within a multi disciplinary team. This full time role is ideal for a registered Professional Nurse with a passion for intensive care and making a real difference in patients lives.
About the role
Netcare is looking for three Clinical Nurses to join the ICU team at Netcare Greenacres Hospital. In this role you will be responsible for assessing, planning and implementing individualised, holistic nursing care for patients and their families in a critical care environment.
Your day to day work will involve monitoring patients, coordinating care with doctors and the wider health team, responding to emergencies, and keeping accurate patient records. You will also help mentor and support other nursing staff and students in the unit.
This is a hands on clinical position where your nursing judgement and quick thinking will be valued every shift.
Requirements
- Registered as a Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
- Thorough knowledge of general and specialised nursing theory and practice
- Extensive knowledge of modern nursing care principles and practices
- Experience in an ICU or critical care setting is essential
- Ability to work shifts including nights and weekends
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement and document individualised nursing care for ICU patients
- Initiate emergency treatment such as resuscitation as required
- Monitor and evaluate patient conditions and adjust care plans accordingly
- Communicate with families and health professionals regarding patient care
- Act as a patient advocate when necessary
- Do rounds with physicians to review patient conditions
- Coordinate patient services and prepare day and night shift documentation
- Assist in mentoring and training nursing staff and students
- Ensure a safe, clean and secure environment for patients and staff
- Adhere to quality and risk management standards and hospital policies
